I am Gua 8 and my husband is the same. as such our recommended facing should be NE, SW, W and NW.

We just bought a house in SE, we like the house and it's location. It is a good land size, rectangular shape as well. Overall we thought it is the best we could find, until we realised the direction (facing SE towards the road) is not good for us.

Can we do anything to make it better?

Thank you!

9square or pie chart?https://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/4921-9square-or-pie-chart/
Dear Dragana,

1. In the context of Flying Star Feng Shui, both the 9-square grid and the pie chart methods are equally valid.

2. Recently, I responded to a forum post that outlined these two approaches.

3. You might consider conducting a search in this forum for the term 'pie chart' to review the previous message I posted.

4. As noted in the first paragraph, there is no distinction between the two methods. However, many Feng Shui practitioners often utilize pre-made templates, such as those printed on transparency sheets, which can be easily overlaid on a layout plan without concerns about scaling.

5. For those who are not practitioners, it may be beneficial to take the time to create a 9-grid chart that aligns with the layout plan.

6. If you explore various Chinese (Mandarin) texts on Feng Shui, you will likely find that many authors prefer to present a pie chart, resembling the profile of the Chinese Luo Pan compass, which is also structured in a pie chart format.

7. In my view, it is primarily English-language books on Feng Shui that tend to utilize the 9-grid chart.

8. As previously mentioned, practitioners, including myself, often do not have the time or 'luxury' to adjust layout plans to fit a 9-grid chart due to the large number of plans we review daily.

9. There are two types of Flying Star Charts:

9.1 The horizontal Flying Star chart

9.2 The vertical Flying Star chart
- The horizontal Flying Star chart is the standard format used for analyzing plan forms or actual layout plans.
- The vertical Flying Star chart pertains to apartments, where it is believed that each floor has varying qi levels. This method is specific to apartments. For those unfamiliar, you can utilize the Free report to analyze your apartment number and understand its significance. The vertical Flying Star Feng Shui does not employ pie or 9-grid formats.
Ultimately, there is no definitive right or wrong choice between the pie chart and the 9-grid method. You are welcome to choose whichever approach you find most comfortable.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

8 mansion vs flying star - main doorhttps://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/9117-8-mansion-vs-flying-star-main-door/ Dear Anon,

Anonymous wrote:
In eight mansion, is it the facing direction of the main door or location sector of main door that is important? My original main door is located at SE sector which is good for kua 4 and facing E direction. I was asked to relocate to the other side which is NE sector(bad for me) but the door still faces E.The reason for relocation is because in flying star the orignaldoor is at W2M5.

Firstly, you need to understand that both the eight house and flying star each has a purpose in the analysis:-

1. Flying Star assess the house to find out the luck of each part of the house. Similiar to where the ba zi assess the person's luck, the flying star is for assessing the house's luck. So it helps determine where are the problem stars and wealth stars for the owner to take advantage of.

2. Eight House gives you an understanding of whether a house is suitable to you or not.A house can have excellent flying star, but if it does not suit you, then you will not be able to benefit from the house. It also helps you determine which bedroom is the best room you can use that will bring you luck etc.

So both concepts are equally important.

Your existing location seems suitable to you, just that the flying star luck there is not so good. So just correct and neutralise the bad stars and you should be ok.

If you change to a good direction as suggested, but of the NE is your Death or Disaster sector, then you will actually bring more harm than good. If NE is your spook/irritation, then not so bad, but still probably won't be as good as a house that is suitable to you.

998BD66A-AAF8-42C9-92D5-15EBAAD8D22D.jpeg.c4aaa207f12a8558754fdabcca082a8b.jpeg

In addition, both Eight House and Flying Stars are used under the 阳宅三要 or Yang Zhai San Yao: The three major considerations in a home: Main Door or Frontage, the Kitchen & Bedroom.

Hope that helps.

When deciding on a house orientation, should one rely on the 8 Mansion or Ba Zi system? My Ba Zi is strong yin Earth Dragon my favourable elements are metal, wood, and water. My kua is 3 my favourable directions are north, east, south, and south-east.

South is my sheng chi direction but it is also a fire direction. My Ba Zi tells me I do not need anymore fire. So should I avoid choosing a south facing house?

Should I choose a house that is favourable to both my Ba Zi and Kua or choose a house using only my Kua?

Thank you.

Fernvale Lane FengShui ( Fern Spring )https://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/18496-fernvale-lane-fengshui-fern-spring/ Hi Shi Fu!

I can't seem to find any feng shui information on the hdb - fernspring. I'm intending to buy a resale flat there but am unsure if its a good plot of lane/a good unit. Would you be able to advise me? I'm looking at block 403c, mid level. I have been looking at the units in fern spring during my property search.

Only manage to find the site plan from this forum - https://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/16469-hdb-sengkang-fernvale-lane-blocks-403-and-404/

I'm not sure if the topiary condo structure will kinda negate the fengshui of the house as its just beside block 403c.

Where should my stove face?https://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/16183-where-should-my-stove-face/

BD540268-9CC2-485C-8A08-AFF613261348.thumb.jpeg.66e8cc4acb2dc482f2a1a426f307a3c4.jpeg

Under the Eight Mansions or 4 good/4 bad directions; the stove should preferably face the lady of the house’s one of her 4 best directions.

  1. How to determine stove facing direction?
    1. Is it true that the stove facing direction is where the person stands in-front of the stove use the stove?
      1. No, this is false
    2. Why did do you need to do so?
      1. This is based on the Eight Mansions concept
        1. In the past, old stoves have an opening to place firewood or charcoal
          1. If so, this is considered as the mouth ? of the stove.
            1. Wherever this mouth faces is considered as the stove’s facing direction
        2. In modern times, stoves are literally table TOP stoves. This includes electric & induction stoves
          1. Here, the opposite direction where one stands facing a stove is considered as the stove’s facing direction
            1. For example if right now I am standing facing EAST. The stove is considered as facing WEST direction.

T-Junction HDB Analysishttps://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/18349-t-junction-hdb-analysis/ Hi Master Lee,

Would like your advice on a HDB facing T-Junction area. I understand that from a scientific point of view, a vehicle that run amok will be unlikely to crash into the HDB. Would like your thoughts if the below unit will be affected by poison arrow or sha-qi from the junction.

1) The unit is on the 5th floor

2) The building is facing the cross junction, around 10-20 meters away and traffic can be a little heavy, however the noise level is acceptable for me.  At the front of the building there is a round circular park, a signboard and trees. Is this considered a good buffer to block sha-qi?

3) The facing of the front door of the unit is against the flow of vehicles at the y-junction. Is this good or bad?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Kenny

Alternative to door tilting?https://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/14351-alternative-to-door-tilting/These are further considerations:-
1. Below are various illustrations to show or say that tilting a door especially to change the "facing direction" be it for : Flying Star and maybe what you had mentioned; your FS master's idea based on your Eight House suitability.

2. Usually, Feng Shui is a holistic approach:
http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks
3. And as a Feng Shui audit has various dimensions:
3.1. Compass School: Flying Star + Eight House and balancing each sector of your home.
3.2. Ba zi e.g. of yourself and family and harmonising it with the home.
4. Hope you understand; especially Para 3. to 3.2. has to be looked at.
5. Other than your geomancer, no one else has done a Feng Shui Triage of your home:

You asked:-
Some other alternatives I saw online says that we can weaken the bad direction with the opposite element.how true is it? How can I apply to it?
6. Difficult to give advice on limited info.

If a person's home is not suitablehttps://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/13460-if-a-persons-home-is-not-suitable/1. In my opinion, based on past experience; duration of stay is another consideration.
2. Thus depending on other factors as what I had mentioned, previously;
3. If the overall Feng Shui (Shapes and Forms is average) and other factors like not fantastic Flying Star; coupled by duration of stay; usually the effects can be felt in the first six months and annual concerns in relation to health and fortune.

Master Bath above Dining and Kitchenhttps://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/4768-master-bath-above-dining-and-kitchen/Dear Anon,
It is not ideal to have such a situation.
On a commonsense approach to Feng Shui, this is because of the fear of leakage e.g. leaking sewerage pipe etc.. However, if the pipes are in good condition and well maintained, this is still OK. Since, there is not much you can really reverse the process. More importantly, it is best to avoid placement of e.g. the dining table directly underneath the toilet bowl.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Opposite Kua between Spouse / Familyhttps://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/8860-opposite-kua-between-spouse-family/

Dear Users,

I noticed that recently there are many questions which revolves around these Qn:

  • My husband and I are opposite Kua

  • I am and East Group and my spouse is West Group

  • Different suitable directions between family members how to apply feng shui?

So I am compiling this information together to help users facing this problem to understand how to apply feng shui.

A. APPLY GIVE AND TAKE APPROACH

This is really a very common issue that most couples face. However, it isn't really too difficult to resolve. All you need to do is to apply the give and take solution.

ie. The house must be favourable to the Breadwinner. So the breadwinner will gain luck from the house. Then the bedroom should be allocated to the spouse so that she will be able to draw luck from the bedroom.

The most important is to have the breadwinner having a house suitable to him/her. The rest of the family member should just have a bedroom that is suitable for them to stay in. If you follow this rule, it shouldn't be hard apply this concept.

View this link to see an example:-

URL: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=21041&new

B. DETERMINE HOUSE FACING DIRECTION

1) Remember, that the house facing direction is determined as follows:-

  • i) For landed property (bungalow/terrace), you should take the facing of the house or property.

  • ii) For apartments (2nd-7th level), you should just stand at the center ofyour main door looking outwards. This is the reading for your main door.

  • iii) For apartments (8th level and up), you should take the facing from the living room/balcony facing. Just stand at your living room/balcony and take a compass reading looking outwards.

URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm

C. APPLY EIGHT HOUSE FOR HUSBAND & WIFE

Firstly, you should confirm your facing direction based on which floor or level you stay in. See above Determine House Facing Direction.

Priority for the house to be suitable to the breadwinner. Then the other person to stay in a suitable bedroom.

1) For the Breadwinner (ie your spouse):-

a) Should have the house in his suitable facing(avoiding Death or Disaster)

b) If the house is not suitable, then at least must sleep in the most suitable bedroom.

c) If both above cannot be achieved, then you can only attempt to improve your luck by making sure you correct all the feng shui leaks in your house and enhance your own ba zi luck:-

URL: http://talk.geomancy.net

2. For all other family members:-

a) The house need not be suitable to them. All they need is to stay in the bedroom sector that is most favourable to them.

Anonymous wrote:
Sleeping position: S - death for me; longevity for him (feet face bedroom door - tomb position)

Priority from most important to least important:-

a) House suibility to breadwinner

b) Bedroom sector suitable to the person

c) Best placement of bed based on the shape an form placement

URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm

d) Sleeping on the side of the bed that is closer to your favourable sector.

e) Bed position is least most important after the above points are taken care off. If at least b), c)and d) are ok, then even if e) is in the worst position, at least it will offset the impact.

D. APPLY EIGHT HOUSE FOR ALL FAMILY MEMBERS

Everyone in the family will have different directions. However, what is important is that you first detemine who is the breadwinner, who is the spouse and the rest of the family.

1. The house must suit the breadwinner. The rest of the family member need not really have to be suitable to the house.

2. The master bedroom for the breadwinner should be given to the breadwinner's spouse if the two person are opposite Gua.

3. The rest of the family just needs to have a suitable bedroom for them to sleep in.

4. Each person should then be able to position their own bedroom according to the best bed position/work position/study position depending on who uses the room.

5. Colours scheme of the room should fit the single/both person using that room. Often two person will have a common element that can help improve the elements.

6. Common rooms like living room, you place furnitures that is in the best shapes and form rather than just to fit or suit any single person. As such rooms are shared between different people.

House Facing Stadiumhttps://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/16747-house-facing-stadium/ Hi Master,

Is it bad to have a stadium opposite the house?

As it's mainly facing the living room of the house  &  the stadium field light also shining towards the house during the evening.

Does this feng shui affect the health as well?

Thank you.

Flat Facing T-Junction/Overhead Bridgehttps://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/16131-flat-facing-t-junctionoverhead-bridge/ Hello there,

I would like to seek your professional advice on a resale HDB flat (level 9) corner unit that is overlooking a T-Junction and Overhead Bridge.
Have heard people mention that such factors are not very positive and will affect the health of the persons living in the flat.

This is the map layout and the view from the living room's window.

Appreciate your input and assistance on this, thank you.

House facing T junctionhttps://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/14551-house-facing-t-junction/

Please see attachment.

House no. 22 Tosca Street.

This house no. 22 Tosca Street has built a "buffer" at the house compound. For example, you can see the outline of the house with a generous compound at the location which may be affected by the T-junction.

This house has built a buffer from the T-junction.

House inside L - Shaped Roadhttps://www.geomancy.net/forums/topic/14544-house-inside-l-shaped-road/In my opinion, plot 14 may be more "vulnerable" to risks such as sha qi from the cul-de-sac etc...
